Erasmus +
Since 1987, Erasmus+ has been a flagship programme of the European Union. CESI Ecole d’Ingénieurs has held the Erasmus+ Charter since 2007 and renews its accreditation every seven years. The current programme, covering the 2021–2027 period, is more inclusive, digital, and environmentally conscious, aligning closely with CESI’s institutional values and strategic vision. It offers lifelong learning opportunities and increased flexibility for participants across all age groups.
Mobility and Cooperation across Europe
CESI offers its students the opportunity to participate in one or more mobility programs with Erasmus+. Created in 1987, the Erasmus+ program contributes to the development of a European Higher Education Area by working on several operational objectives:
- Improving quality and strengthening the European perspective in higher education
- Increasing students’, teachers’ and academics’ staff mobility
- Strengthening multilateral cooperation between higher education institutions and companies
- Improving transparency and recognition of qualifications acquired in higher education and higher vocational training in Europe
The first major European initiative, Erasmus+ promotes mobility actions in Europe for students (study or work study periods), teaching staff (teaching assignments) and all staff in higher education institutions (training periods).
Erasmus+ also encourages cooperation between higher education institutions through the development of intensive programs, networks and multilateral projects. In France today, all French universities participate in Erasmus+, as do most non-university higher education institutions.

International mobility of our engineering students
Since 2007, CESI has been a subscriber to the Erasmus+ charter for higher education, whereby it joins the scheme funded by Erasmus+. It thus offers eligible students financial support for their mobility in Europe.
CESI is a beneficiary of the charter for the new 2021-2027 program.
Erasmus+ is adapting to major contemporary challenges by focusing on three priorities: inclusion, digital transformation and sustainability.
Eligibility requirements for the Erasmus+ grants

From a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 12 consecutive months for internships and “long mobility”.
Between 5 days minimum and 31 days maximum for “short mobility”.
Type of mobility
Priority will be given to compulsory 4th-year international mobility. Requests for mobility in another year of study are possible, but will be placed on a waiting list until the end of the campaign, and may be financed if there are any leftovers in the budget (if a finance 0 contract has been signed beforehand).
Please note
Submitting a mobility declaration does not guarantee that you will be awarded an Erasmus+ grant. Each application is reviewed by a selection committee. Selection committees are organized by the school on a monthly basis. Only the selection committee’s decision will confirm your eligibility (YES/NO/Waiting list). The Erasmus+ coordinator on your CESI campus will help you apply for an Erasmus+ grant and will take part in the award committee.
Combining grants
Some regional grants cannot be combined with Erasmus+ grants. Please contact your local International Officer for information on regional grants.
Students from campuses with a regional grant authorizing the cumulation of grants may apply for scholarships. However, they must mention this regional grant on the application form.
ERASMUS+ MOBILITY DECLARATION
Mobility declarations must be sent to the Erasmus+ correspondent on the CESI campus where you are registered, before your departure.
National Erasmus+ coordinator: Karine Gourlet
Local correspondent: please contact your campus.

Only academic mobility (studies) is eligible outside Europe. Students undertaking an internship outside Europe may submit an application, but these will be placed on a waiting list and processed at the end of the campaign if there are any remaining places available.
“inclusion” top-up
“Inclusion”: an additional €250 per month for students with disabilities or long-term illnesses (ALD), and students with CROUS grant levels 6 and 7.
Please remember to present proof of disability when applying for your scholarship (certificate of decision from the Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées (MDPH), certificate of long-term illness, disability card, final CROUS notification for the current year).
Duration of funding
Internships are financed for a maximum of 3 months.
Study programs are financed for a maximum of 3 months, depending on the academic calendar of the host institution.
Mobilities outside Europe are financed for a maximum of 2 months.
Staff mobility
The Erasmus+ program offers the possibility to finance periods of teaching or training abroad for our staff (teaching, administrative, technical…). This mobility also makes it possible to have support to bring in employees from foreign companies.
Mobility to one of the following countries:
- The 28 member states of the Community: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden
- Third countries participating in the program: North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, and Serbia
Mobility for teaching:
Teaching mobility within the meaning of the Erasmus+ program must be for the benefit of students enrolled in higher education. It is often associated with teaching students at the host institution, research seminars, meetings with students on mobility at the partner institution, work on setting up joint projects, etc.
Erasmus+ teaching mobility must take place at one of our partners with whom we have signed an Erasmus+ “Teaching” institutional agreement. You can consult the table of our partners below.
You must teach a minimum of 8 hours over a maximum of 5 days.
Mobility for training purposes:
Training mobility can take several forms: language courses at a private or public institution, intensive internships, partner discovery and best practice exchanges, summer schools, International Weeks, etc. Please note: conferences and trade shows are not eligible.
You can go to one of CESI’s Erasmus+ partners or another European institution that holds the Erasmus+ charter, or to any public or private organization in a member country that is active in the field of education, training, or youth.
CESI can host teachers and administrative staff from partner universities as part of the Erasmus+ program.
This mobility, which is a real asset for strengthening partnerships and discovering best practices, can be carried out by following the procedure below:
- Contact your International Office and follow the selection procedure.
- Once nominated, indicate your staff mobility project.
- CESI will then suggest a host campus and the dates of your potential stay in your letter of invitation.
- The program is jointly developed through an educational contract signed by both partner institutions before your arrival.
- Unsolicited applications that have not been approved by the home university cannot be accepted.
How to go? Contact your Regional Human Resources Manager. Approval from your line manager is required in advance.
