An academic bridge between France and Egypt: EUI visits CESI

In this page:

On April 2nd, CESI had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), to its headquarters and Nanterre campus. This visit marked a key moment in the development of an ambitious international academic partnership between the two institutions.

EUI’s expansion towards european partnerships

Founded in 2021, EUI is an Egyptian university focused on innovation and education in the digital sector. As partnerships with American universities become increasingly complex – particularly due to the high costs for Egyptian students – EUI is seeking to diversify its collaborations with European institutions, particularly those in France.

Partnership between CESI and EUI

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss several areas of cooperation:

  • The implementation of dual-degree programs, particularly in the field of information technology, with the possibility of extending this partnership to other fields, such as engineering
  • The development of academic exchange programs, allowing French students to spend a semester in Egypt, and Egyptian students to take part in CESI’s Summer Schools in France
  • The hosting of Egyptian researchers and teachers as part of the Staff Training Week organised in July, which focuses on active learning methods
  • The launch of joint research projects in the medium term

This visit is part of a wider dynamic of cooperation, reinforced by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the Franco-Egyptian Conference, which formalises the mutual commitment of both institutions to develop joint projects.

This marks the start of a promising partnership between CESI and EUI, in the service of education, research, and international mobility.
