A CESI delegation composed of Laurianne Giteau, Head of International Relations, and Valentin Huyenh, Head of Teaching, visited Taiwan from November 2 to 9, 2025, to strengthen existing ties and develop new academic partnerships with several strategic institutions across the island.
Strengthening Collaboration with Taiwanese Partners
The mission began in Taipei with a visit to the National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), a long-standing partner. The discussions reaffirmed shared ambitions and provided an opportunity to meet Tom Gohier, a CESI student in his fourth year of a general engineering program, currently on an academic exchange, who is successfully integrating into the institution.
The delegation then traveled to the south of the island to meet with the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), one of Taiwan’s most prestigious universities. The local teams expressed their desire to welcome more French students in the coming years and to strengthen existing collaborations.
New Partnership with CCU and the Promotion of the TEEP Program
The visit also marked the finalization of a new partnership agreement with National Chung Cheng University (CCU), paving the way for new mobility opportunities, particularly within research laboratories recognized for their scientific excellence.
During this visit, the delegation met Yanis Ethvignot, a CESI engineering student who had just completed a research internship as part of the TEEP (Taiwan Experience Education Program). Funded by the Taiwanese government, the program enables international students to undertake a funded research project while benefiting from favorable living and working conditions.
Enhancing CESI’s Visibility in Taiwan
As part of the mission, CESI and its engineering programs were presented to the French section of a European high school in Taipei, helping to raise awareness of French engineering education among future high school graduates.
In-depth discussions were also held with the French Office in Taipei and Campus France Taiwan, focusing on Taiwan’s growing demand for engineering skills and on strategies to enhance the visibility and recognition of French engineering schools, which are still relatively unknown in Taiwan.
The mission concluded with CESI’s participation in the European Education Fair Taiwan, a two-day event bringing together numerous European higher education institutions. This participation underscored the importance of strengthening the French presence in the fields of science and engineering in Taiwan.
