From February 24 to 28, Karine Gourlet , International Mobility Manager, and Juliette Hautem , International Relations Officer traveled to Romania as part of an initiative to enhance CESI’s international visibility. The visit included participation in a student fair and meetings with academic partners.

Meeting with Romanian Students

As part of the World Education Fair, the CESI team visited Timișoara and Bucharest. There, they engaged with a large number of students, primarily high school students exploring their future study options.

These discussions highlighted CESI’s engineering programs and the opportunities offered by studying in France. The level of interest among Romanian students was particularly strong, supported by their high proficiency in foreign languages (English and French) and their keen interest in international study experiences.

CESI also participated in the Study in France Fair Tour, organized by Campus France and the Institut Français. This event provided valuable visibility for the French higher education system and offered practical information on mobility schemes and available funding opportunities.

Academic Partnerships at the Heart of the Visit

Beyond programme promotion, the visit also helped strengthen and further develop CESI’s academic partnerships.

In Timișoara, CESI representatives met with Politehnica University, a long-standing partner for over ten years. Discussions with international relations teams led to a valuable exchange of best practices, particularly regarding Erasmus mobility and recent developments in European cooperation.

In Bucharest, CESI representatives visited the Technical University of Civil Engineering (UTCB), a more recent partner. This visit helped reinforce existing ties. Meetings with academic staff and students, especially within the French-speaking community, also opened up new opportunities for future mobility.

Romania : a Favorable Environment for Student Mobility

This initiative confirms Romania’s strong potential as a destination for student mobility. The country offers several key advantages :

  • a high-quality higher education system, particularly in technical fields;
  • students with strong language skills;
  • an affordable cost of living;
  • funding opportunities, such as Erasmus+ grants.

By developing new collaborations and strengthening existing partnerships, CESI is reinforcing its presence within the European higher education landscape. This initiative fully aligns with its international strategy, aimed at training globally minded engineers ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
