From February 23 to 26, CESI participated in APAIE (Asia-Pacific Association for International Education), an international conference dedicated to cooperation between higher education institutions. This year, the event was held in Hong Kong and brought together universities from around the world, with strong representation from Asian, Oceanian, and European institutions.
A Conference on Staff Mobility
The CESI delegation was represented by Stefan Seiler, Director of International Development, who was accompanied by Alexandre Phan, Head of International Relations, who had the opportunity to deliver a lecture on investing in staff mobility as a lever to enhance the attractiveness of student exchange programs in the era of artificial intelligence. Through this presentation, he highlighted the strategic importance of faculty mobility in boosting international exchanges, while emphasizing the challenges posed by technological evolution.
Both also had the chance to attend numerous sessions updating them on trends and innovations in academic and university cooperation.
Meetings and New Cooperation Agreements
During this edition, the CESI team held dozens of meetings, approximately half of which were with partners already engaged in joint projects. These exchanges advanced several initiatives, particularly in the areas of dual degree programs, collaborative research, and online or hybrid teaching programs involving students from partner institutions.
Partner universities met during the conference included Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) and Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Karlsruhe (DHBW) in Gernmany, Vietnam-German University (VGU) and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) in Vietnam, Multumedia University (MMU) in Malaysia, as well as King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) in Thailand.
Two new agreements were also signed on-site to promote student, faculty, and researcher mobility with ITS Surabaya (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember) in Indonesia et Kasetsart University in Thailand.
A Strategic Region for International Development
The Asia-Pacific region is a strategic priority for CESI. The region is characterized by sustained economic growth, dynamic industries, strong scientific and technological potential, and highly active student mobility.
Exchange programs between European and Asian students offer many academic and professional development opportunities while strengthening collaboration between universities and industry.
By participating in APAIE, CESI reaffirms its international development strategy and its commitment to building lasting collaborations with universities and institutions worldwide.
