CESI‘s campus in Paris-Nanterre accounts for 10 000 m² to serve your training. Organised into four separate buildings (buildings 1 & 2, reserved for the educational and administrative divisions, and buildings 3 & 4, dedicated to research demonstrators), the Paris-Nanterre campus welcomes more than 3 400 students undergoing training per year.

The quality of the welcome given to international students is one of CESI’s key commitments. It has earned the school two out of three stars in the “Bienvenue en France” label. This certification speaks to the quality of the welcome given to foreign students at CESI.
The “Bienvenue en France” qualification evaluates the actions taken to meet the needs of international students, based on several criteria: quality and accessibility of information, quality and accessibility of reception facilities, accessibility and support for teaching, accommodation and quality of campus life, quality of post-graduation follow-up.

CESI Nanterre campus offers a wide variety of clubs: sports, automotive, strategy, design and innovation, and international.
For the past three years, a forum bringing together the student union, clubs, and associations has been organized each year on campus. The purpose of this event is to introduce students to the richness of student life, encourage networking, and present the activities and events that will punctuate the year.
A Student Life Guide, designed and published by the Communication and Campus Life department, is distributed to all students to provide them with all the information they need about student life.
Participating in student life means sharing, discovering, and opening up to others. Thanks to our clubs and associations, you will have the opportunity to develop your athletic, artistic, and technical talents, or even get involved in humanitarian and social projects.
Welcome program
Since the start of the new academic year, Nanterre’s international team has been running a welcome program to help new international students settle in. The program includes a lunchtime desk to help newcomers with all the formalities, a tour of the campus and surrounding area to discover useful places, and a weekend outing to Paris, with a visit to a museum and a stroll through the capital’s emblematic sites.

Please Note
Real estate agencies or landlords often require a one-month deposit in addition to one month’s rent in advance.
For any rental in France, you will need:
- home insurance – approximately €60/year – to be taken out with insurance companies or banks
- a European guarantor to act as a surety
IMPORTANT: The French government has set up a guarantee system, open to foreign students under the age of 30, for rents of up to €1,300.
Putting together your application:
The list of documents may vary depending on the type of housing and the landlord’s requirements. In general, you may be asked to provide copies of the following documents:
- Your ID
- Your residence permit (VLS-TS, residence card) if you came to France on a visa
- Your student card or certificate of enrollment for the current year
- A letter from your guarantor and their ID

If you are a citizen of a European Union country, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland, you do not need a visa to study in France.

If you are a non-European student, you will need to apply for a visa to study in France on the Campus France website. Check out this section to prepare for your arrival:
REMINDER: Three months before your student visa expires, don’t forget to apply for a residence permit at the Préfecture (prefecture) of your place of residence so that you can continue your studies on our campus.
If you are enrolling for the first time in a higher education institution in France and do not have a social security number, you must register on Ameli in order to have your healthcare costs covered for the duration of your studies. This registration is free and mandatory, and will allow you to be reimbursed for your healthcare expenses.
To ensure you receive the best possible reimbursement for your healthcare costs, you can also take out supplementary health insurance or insurance.
Our teams also provide support with opening a bank account and all other steps necessary for a smooth transition to life in France.

Have you received confirmation of your admission to CESI? Congratulations!
You can now begin the necessary steps to settle in and prepare for your year of study in France.
Before arriving at CESI, check the Welcome Guide and attend online sessions to discover your campus.
Once in France, join the Welcome Day and meet your International Relations Officer, who will help you with key steps:
- register for health insurance,
- validate your visa if you are not a European student
- provide proof of health and civil liability insurance
- apply for housing aid through CAF if eligible.
CESI also helps you open a bank account and settle in smoothly. During your stay, take part in student associations and international events hosted by your campus.
